Mrs. Irene Chaff Brown, 86, of Thurmont, Maryland, died on Monday November 21, 2011 at St. Catherine’s Nursing Center, Emmitsburg. She was the wife of the late Carroll Wilbur Brown.
Born on August 2, 1925 in Logan, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Vilma Bodo Chaff of Fairmont, West Virginia.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, William M. Chaff, Sr. and wife, Janice; stepson Randolph Brown; stepsister Louise Brown Blair; stepbrother, Robert Brown.
Surviving is a sister Rose Chaff Garcia and husband Manuel, of Fairmont, West Virginia; son William M. Kervaski, Sr. and wife Susan of Trussville, Alabama; stepson Gerald Brown and wife Janet of Thurmont; grandchildren Shara Viles and William M. Kervaski, Jr.; great- grandchildren Halie Kervaski and Isabell Viles, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a long time employee of the Mountain Gate Restaurant, a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Thurmont Senior Center and Thurmont United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be held on Friday November 25, from 7-9pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont, MD where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday November 26, 2011. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Guardian Hose Fire Company, 21 North Church Street Thurmont, MD 21788.
