Mr. Ira William “Bill” Swomley, 67 of Middletown, Maryland passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of Nancy Swomley. They were married for 21 years.
Born October 12, 1945 in Frederick, Maryland he was the son of the late Guy Robert Swomley and the late Catherine Miss Smith.
Bill was previously employed as a mason with George Moehrle Masonry, Inc. He was worked as a mason his whole life. His passion was going to car shows, drag racing and loved to spend time with family.
In addition to his loving wife Nancy, he is survived by his four children, Brenda L. Frazier and husband Randy of North Carolina, Michael W. Swomley of Greencastle, PA, Dawn R. Brennan of Baltimore, MD and Kevin C. Boone of Georgia, four grandchildren, Ashley Brennan, Nicholas Swomley, Quinton Frazier and Rhianna Frazier, two sisters, Janet Darcey and husband Kenny and Mary Lou Kolb and husband Bobby, a step- brother, Bobby Swomley and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike on Tuesday, November 20 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 21stat 1:00PM with Herm Weaver officiating.
