Ira Wheeler Haupt, Jr., 63, of Loxahatchee, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee, Florida.
Born on October 23, 1947, Ira was the son of the late Ira Wheeler Haupt, Sr. and Oneida Susan (Reeder) Haupt.
He was a 1965 graduate of Boonsboro High School, was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Rohrersville, Maryland, and served in the Navy during the Vietnam war from 1965-1968.
Mr. Haupt was formerly employed by Donald W. Guyton in Middletown, Maryland, The Maryland School for the Deaf in Frederick, Maryland, and was owner of Haupt Electric in Rohrersville, Maryland.
He enjoyed boating and fishing and was a member of the Brunswick Bass Masters Club before moving to Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Marsha of thirty seven years; a daughter, Angela Charla and her husband, Leonard and their two children, Alyssa and Anthony Charla all of Loxahatchee, Florida. He is also survived by two brothers, Donald Haupt and his wife, Dottie of Falling Waters, West Virginia, R. Wayne Haupt and his wife, Pam of Sharpsburg, Maryland; three sisters, Esther and her husband, Donald O'Neal, Shirley Haupt and Juanita Haupt both of Hagerstown, Mayrland.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland with the Rev. Marvin Kline and Rev. John Schildt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Rohrersville, Maryland.
