Mrs. Ionia R. Clagett, 85, of Mt. Airy died on Saturday, April 11, 2009, at her residence.
She was the wife of George R. Clagett, her husband of 65 years.
Born on May 22, 1923, in Brantford, ND she was the daughter of the late Harry B. and Vada Row.
She was the combination secretary, assistant, office manager, etc. to the late Dr. Raymond Bradshaw, in his office in Silver Spring. She had a special relationship to many of his patients, which continued to today.
Ionia was a member of the Providence United Methodist Church in Kemptown. She was an avid sports fan especially basketball and the Washington Wizards. She loved helping others and enjoyed cooking, gardening, bowling; and her weekly Thursday afternoon lunches with friends
Surviving in addition to her husband are 2 daughters: Terry Buckler of Damascus and Vicki Clagett of Mt. Airy; a granddaughter, Debbie Comer of Gaithersburg and a great grandson, Brandon Comer of Damascus.
Mrs. Clagett was preceded in death by siblings: Arnold Row and Pauline Alfstad
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 2-5 PM on Wednesday, April 15, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd. in Mt. Airy.
Services:
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday at Providence United Methodist Church, 3735 Kemptown Church Rd., Monrovia.
Interment, Parklawn Memorial Park, Rockville.
