Iona Mae (House) Routzahn

Iona Mae (House) Routzahn, 91, a resident at Reeders Memorial Home and formerly of 9 Ford Avenue, Boonsboro, Maryland, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 13, 2009.
Born on May 9, 1918, in Zittlestown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Harvey J. and Mae E. (Beachley) House. Her husband, Roy G. Routzhan, preceded her in death in 1977 after 43 years of marriage.
Mrs. Routzahn attended Zittlestown School. She was past Sunday School Secretary at the Zittlestown Independent Church. She was a member of the Boonsboro Family Worship Center and Ladies Ministries, the Boonsboro Senior Citizens Club, and AARP.
She is survived by her three daughters, Darlo M. Weddle of Frederick, Maryland, and Marlene F. Moser and Sharlyn K. Doyle, both of Boonsboro; one son Glenn Harvey Routzahn, of Boonsboro; as well as 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by one sister, Mary F. Naille and two brothers Norwood H. and Elwood C. House.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro. Interment will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
