Irmgard came to the
United States
after she married Samuel Roach Sr
.
who was serving in the Army. Mrs
.
Roach became a
US
citizen in 1967.
Irmgard retired from the District of Columbia Department of Corrections after a distinguished 20 year career. She retired with the rank of Sergeant
.
Surviving are two sons, Samuel Jr
.
of Athens, GA and David and his wife Marie of Frederick, MD; four grandchildren, Ashley, Justin, Samuel III and Lauren and various relatives still living in Germany
.
The family will receive friends from

to
9 pm
on Wednesday, February 23, at Stauffer Funeral Home 1621 Opossumtown Pike,
Frederick
.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, February 24
,
at St John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church 118 East Second Street
,
Frederick, MD at 2 pm.
