Ida "Patti" Worrell

Ida Marie “Patti” Dawson Worrell, age 86, of Frederick, MD, departed peacefully at her home on June 26, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Patti was born on October 6, 1930 in Altoona, PA to her late parents, Earl and Esther Dawson.
She was the devoted wife of Wayne Clair Worrell, to whom she was married for 65 years.
Earlier in her life, Patti was employed by Glen L. Martin and Sears Roebuck, however, the primary focus of her life, and the one she held most dear, was raising her six children. Once they were grown, she shifted into loving and caring for her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Patti also held a special place in her heart for animals, and shared her life with many beloved pets over the years. She loved to garden and could often be found tending to her outdoor flowers. She was a deeply faithful person and a devout member of many churches during her lifetime, where she loved singing hymns and teaching Sunday School.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are six children; Wayne Worrell and wife Carolyn of Fredericksburg, VA; Cynthia Schumann and husband Lewis of Naples, FL; Joseph Worrell of Frederick, MD; Timothy Worrell and his wife Zoë of Myersville, MD; Melanie Hoyt and her husband Paul of Frederick, MD; and Terri Dawson of Frederick, MD. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Marilyn Sakowski and husband Joe of Wilmington, NC, 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Stauffer funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick MD. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time from 1:00-2:00pm at the funeral home.
Her family will miss her greatly and look to be with her once again in paradise - thank you Jesus.
