Ida B. Eyler

Mrs. Ida B. Eyler, 81, of Thurmont went to be with her Lord, on Monday, November 3, 2008, at her home.

Born on July 2, 1927, in Jimtown, she was the daughter of the late Issac and Ruby Hastings Stambaugh.

She was a cook for 20 years at St Joseph's Provincial House in Emmitsburg, retiring in 1989.

Mrs. Eyler was a member of St Joseph's Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing cards, cooking for family and friends and was a pet lover.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her hospice providers: Stacey Bowers, Brienne Superczynski and Mary Singleton, for all their loving care; as well as the many friends and neighbors that helped over the years.

Surviving are a daughter, Holly Valentine and husband Randolph of Thurmont; 2 sons: Cliff Eyler and wife Laura of Westminster and Phil Eyler and wife Cindy of New Oxford, PA; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Mary Ellen Alford and Ramona Cain.

Mrs. Eyler was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Luther and Ray Stambaugh; and by her half sister, Ann Hurley who raised her as a child.

Services: Graveside services and interment will take place at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 8, in New St. Joseph's Cemetery, Emmitsburg with Rev. Stephen Trzecieski officiating
