Mr. Howard C. Akers, 83 of Frederick, MD., died Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at College View Center. He was the husband of the late Bertha E. Righter Akers.
Born March 9, 1925 in Richmond, Va., he was the son of the late Wilbert and Ida Akers.
Mr. Akers enjoyed Nascar racing and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by two daughters Joanne and Mary Jane Akers of Frederick and one niece Linda Miller.
He was preceded in death by a sister Geraldine Miles.

Services: The family will receive friends from noon until service time at 1 pm, Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Maryland. Interment at Parklawn Cemetery.
