Howard Miller, Jr.

Howard E. Miller, Jr., 89, a resident of Ravenwood Nursing Home in Hagerstown, Maryland and formerly of Sharpsburg, Maryland passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, September 10, 2011 surrounded by his family.
Born on September 13, 1921 in Martinsburg, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Howard E. and Emma R. (Brining) Miller. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia B. (Rowland) Miller on May 24, 2007.
He was a member of the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Boonsboro.
He was a retired farmer.
Howard is survived by a son, Larry B. Miller of Boonsboro and a sister, Emma G. Barkdoll of Boonsboro.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary L. Myers and a brother, John R. Miller.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. Rev. John F. Torrence will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Keedysville, Maryland.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the funeral home.
