Mr. Hope Henry Miller, Jr., 94, born December 5, 1920, passed away at home December 13, 2014
Hope was born and raised in North Carolina
He served his Country in the United States Army, a career that spanned WWII, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War. He was an amateur radio operator, who cherished his camaraderie with his friends in the Old Buzzards Radio Club, which he served as Secretary-Treasurer for many years. He also spent much of his time playing pinochle with his buddies at the Thurmont Senior Center. He was a gentle, humble man who always tried to do the right thing. He loved animals and nature; and especially enjoyed visiting the mountains of North Carolina.
He is survived by his dearest friend Thomasina Hepburn, with whom he shared his life, his son Christopher Miller, and three granddaughters, as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his sister Marilyn.
Per his wishes, there will be no viewing.
Interment private.
Donations in his memory may be to the Thurmont Senior Center.
