H. Lucille Callahan, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away at the Hebrew Home of Greater Washington Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at the age of 78. She was married to the late Lawrence Callahan for 48 years.
Lucille was born August 2, 1936, in Frederick. She was the daughter of the late Carlton Calvin Barger, Sr. and the late Helen Schaffer Barger.
She is survived by one brother, C. Calvin Barger Jr. of Frederick; her children, Michelle Johnston and husband, Jeff, of Rockville, Maryland; Laura Callahan of Frederick, Maryland; Elizabeth Colson and husband, Mike, of Silver Spring, Maryland; and three grandchildren, Brigid Johnston, Alexander Colson, and Sean Colson.
Lucille graduated from Washington County Hospital School of Nursing, and she worked for several years as a registered nurse at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She will be well remembered by her nursing friends, her neighbors, and her bridge group, as a kind and loving person. She was a member of St. John's the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Frederick.
A memorial mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 East Second Street, Frederick, Maryland. Immediately following the mass, family and friends are invited for a time of food and fellowship at Dutch’s Daughter, 581 Himes Avenue, Frederick.
