Hiram Kipe Jr.

Mr. Hiram W. Kipe Jr., 83, of New Market, died on Thursday, September 16, 2010, at Kline Hospice House, Mt. Airy. He was the loving husband of Emily Frances Kipe.
Born in Pennsylvania on October 27, 1926, he was the son of the late Hiram W. Sr. and Annie Davis Kipe.
He worked for over 44 years at Hahn Transportation in New Market and retired in 1993. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, he was a Mason, a lifetime member of the New Market Volunteer Fire Dept. and a member of the New Market United Methodist Church.
He was an avid bowler, enjoyed volleyball and playing horseshoes. Most of all he loved his children, grandchildren and spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children; Thomas L. Kipe of Eldersburg, James H. Kipe of Frederick, Marie Rhoderick of Martinsburg, WV., Charles F. Kipe of Frederick and Gary W. Kipe of Frederick. Grandchildren; Mitch, Angie, Tracy, Kristy, Crystal, J. R., Jason, Kelly, Joe, Chucky and Holly. Great grandchildren; Gregory, Wyatt, Daysha, Kate, Julia, Hayden and Anna. One brother Harold Kipe and wife Erma.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Robert B. Kipe and Baby Boy Kipe. Son in law James Rhoderick Sr. Sister Katherine Stansbury and Brother Martin Kipe.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9pm on Sunday, September 19, and on Monday September 20 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd. Mt. Airy, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday September 21, 2010. Michael Yokay will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Gamber, MD. Pallbearers will be Jason Kipe, James Kipe Jr., Joseph Kipe, James Rhoderick Jr., Greg Reid and Thomas Tigner.
