Hildegard Hall

Mrs. Hildegard Marie (Schmidt) Hall, 95, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Edenton Retirement Home.   Hilda was the beloved wife of the late Eldon W. Hall for 68 years and beloved mother to their 12 children.

Born September 16, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the youngest daughter of the late John Jacob and Hildegarde Katherine Schmidt.  She is preceded in death by her two older sisters Dorothy Graf and Eleanor Santa.

After graduating from high school, Hilda married Eldon and began her lifelong career as a mother.  She spent her entire life loving and caring for her husband and children.  She and Eldon had a particular love for and dedication to special needs children and their families.  Hilda was a faithful, generous friend and neighbor to all those she encountered.  She loved the Lord and shared God’s love with everyone she knew, and even strangers she met along the way.   Her faith in the Risen Lord was the source of strength that carried her to the end.

Hilda is survived by her twelve children:  Anna Marie Spargo, Mark Hall, Barbara Tredway, William Hall, Lorita Nicholson, Beatrice Towns, Teresa Saunders, Daniel Hall, John Hall, Alan Hall, Andrew Hall and Joseph Hall. Hilda had 43 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren whom she always remembered and constantly prayed for.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at St Joseph-On-Carrolton Manor Catholic Church, with Father John as the celebrant.

Interment will be privately held on Monday December 21, 2020 at 1:00 pm at St. Gabriel Cemetery, in Potomac, Maryland.
