Hilda Thomas

Hilda Aileene Thomas , 89, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Homewood at Williamsport in Williamsport, Maryland, where she has resided for the past 7 months.  She was the beloved wife of the late Gerald William Thomas for 57 years.

Born on March 23, 1932, in Locust Grove, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Roland John and Grace Elizabeth (Violet) Smith

Hilda formerly attended Salem United Methodist Church in Keedysville.  She worked for several years with Fairchild Industries, MT Warrenfeltz of Boonsboro and Potomac Center for the state of MD. Hilda was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Barbara S. Baker and husband David of Boonsboro and Michael L. Thomas, Sr. of Boonsboro, MD; grandchildren, David Baker and wife Etta, Cheryl Spielman and husband Brian ,Lori Dodson and husband David, Mark Baker, Michael L. Thomas, Jr. and wife Jess,Matthew Thomas and fiance Angie, and Alicia Bergeman and husband Lee; great-grandchildren Bobby, Zachary and Lane Baker, Abby and Gavin Spielman, Colin and Isaac Thomas, Miles Thomas, Ellie Bergeman and Silas Dodson; sister-in-law Sylvia Smith. and also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sister Oralee L. Clouser and brothers, Ralph E. Smith and Richard W. Smith.

The family will receive friends from 6-8PM on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland where a celebration of Hilda's life journey will take place at 11AM  on Wednesday, June 9 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home. Rev. Jeffrey L. Shull , BBC, Chaplain at Homewood at Williamsport will officiate.

Interment will be at Boonsboro Cemetery in  Boonsboro, Maryland.
