Mr. Herbert Lance Harris, 71, of Ijamsville, MD passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Antoinette Harris.
Born on October 3, 1941 in Washington, D. C. he was the son of the late Benjamin and Grace Harris and also Quincy and Elsie Shrier.
Herb was the owner and operator of H. L. Harris Plumbing and Heating, Inc. for the past 40 years and sadly leaves behind his second family of loyal plumbers, Andy, Chris and especially Michael. Despite a difficult past few years, Herb loved nothing more than being surrounded by family and friends. He was an avid dirt track and NASCAR fan, pilot, gardener, boater and enjoyed spending time outdoors.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Theresa Haven and her husband Scott of Wake Forest, NC, Benjamin, Michael and Dustin Harris, Ijamsville, MD; grandchildren Paige, Grant, Bryan, Faith, Connor, and Colton Haven; his siblings Betty Stiles of Westbend, Wisconsin; JoAnn Tawney and her husband Mickey of New Carollton, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his siblings Betty Ritter and Robert Shrier.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 6-9 PM where a prayer service will be held.

Interment will be private.
