Henry Perkoski, 95, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, September 15, 2023 at Homewood at Crumland Farms in Frederick, MD.
Born on October 20, 1927, in Nanticoke, PA, he was the son of the late John Perkoski and Stella (Verbinski) Perkoski.
He was a graduate of Huntington Mills High School in PA. He also earned his real estate license after graduating.
Henry was part of the United States Army Medical Corps while stationed in Korea, he worked as a laboratory technician.
After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, he became a Detective Sergeant of the Metropolitan Police Department in D.C. for 22 years, which he retired from in October 1971. After retiring he became the assistant chief of security for Prince George's County Public Schools. He received his private pilots license, and the joined the civil air patrol where he was involved with search and rescue operations. He also earned his real estate license at the same time.
He was a member of the Association of Retired Police Officers and the American Legion post #206.
Henry enjoyed spending time with his family and friends his hobbies were as well as oil painting, working on stained glass windows and playing poker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 73 Years, Margaret Derkach Perkoski, sons, Joseph H. Perkoski, John Michael Perkoski and daughter, Margaret Lynn Perkoski (Rudi). Grandson, John Henry Perkoski (Ryann) , and a great-great-granddaughter Margaret "Maggie" Remington Perkoski, and dear friend Kim Perkoski.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers John Perkoski, Ralph Perkoski, Albert Perkoski, Donald Perkoski, and his daughter-in-law Gail Perkoski.
