Henry Foreman

Mr. Henry L. “Petey” Foreman, 70, of Frederick, died on Thursday August 12, 2010 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

He was the husband of Lola Mae Foreman for 33 years.

Born in Frederick, MD on February 8, 1940, he was the son of the late John Robert Sr. and Nellie V. Bowie Foreman.
He worked for 30 years at the State Highway Administration and the Montgomery County Courthouse, Rockville. He was a volunteer fire fighter/ engine/ ambulance operator for over 36 years with the Urbana Volunteer Fire and Rescue Co. He loved to cook and enjoyed his work with the Fire Department. He was an avid singer and enjoyed his time singing with the Heavenly Echoes singing group and the Ebenezer Unity Choir. He was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Ijamsville.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters; Tammy Ovejera and husband Alen, Tracy Foreman and Leslie Foreman all of Frederick, two grandchildren, Tamara Ovejera of Frederick and Kiyanei Ovejera of Camp Lejeune, NC. One sister, Emma Naylor and husband James of Frederick. Brothers David Foreman and wife Elaine, Kenneth Foreman and wife Irene, Ulysses Foreman all from Detroit, MI. Charles Foreman of Frederick, Step brothers Herman Fredericks of Olney and George Fredericks and wife Debra of  Walkersville, Brother in Law Edward Chase of Washington D.C. Sister in laws; Brenda Spencer of Frederick and Dorothy Gray and husband Steve of Gaithersburg. He will also be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his step mother Bertha Foreman, brothers, Thomas, Nelson, Robert, Evan and his twin Joseph “Hop” Foreman, Sisters Mary, Margaret, Bernice, and Anna, Sister in laws Mildred and Dorothy.
The family will receive friends on Friday August 20, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday August 21, in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery, Ijamsville, MD.
