Mr. Henry P. “Hank” Dougherty, 74, of Walkersville, died on Friday January 14, 2011 at the Kline Hospice House, Mt. Airy.
Born on August 14, 1936 in Brooklyn, N.Y. he was the son of the late Louis J. and Christine A. Gibson Dougherty.
He belonged to the Life Underwriters Council, Long Term Care and the New England Life Leaders Club. He was a member of St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, Walkersville. He enjoyed golf, tennis, collecting antiques and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his two daughters, Christina H. Kerns and husband Charles of Silver Spring and Lauren K. Palik and husband Timothy of Kensington. One sister Barbara A. Sullivan of New York. Grandchildren; Garrett, Samuel and William Kerns and Quinn Palik. Former husband of Katherine Dougherty of Silver Spring. He was preceded in death by a brother, Louis J. Dougherty Jr. and a sister, Joan M. Smith.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday February 4, 2011, at Saint Timothy’s Catholic Church, 8651 Biggs Ford Road, Walkersville.Inurnment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
