Henry Albert Barnhouse, 87, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia.
Born on November 5, 1926, in Point of Rocks, Maryland, he was the son of the late Jacob Nelson and Jessie Alice (Newton) Barnhouse. His wife, Carla Ann (Nokes) Barnhouse, preceded him in death in 1985.
Henry retired in 1991 from Canam.
He was a member of the Brownsville Church of the Brethren where he served as an usher and also assisted as the Building Stewart.
Henry was a true family man and a very loving father. He will be fondly remembered for his love of all things outdoors and mowing the grass.
He is survived by four children, Dennis N. Barnhouse of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Angela F. Piper and husband Buzz of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, Teresa "Tess" D. Truitt and husband Ron of Charlestown, West Virginia, and Kevin B. Barnhouse and wife Vic, also of Harpers Ferry. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, especially his best buddy Brenton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Edna Mae Barnhouse, Frances Heflin and Lucy Phillips; five brothers, Amos, Claude, Harry, Paul and Charles Barnhouse, Sr.; and one great-grandson, Jacob Eli Truitt.
A memorial service will be planned for Henry at a later date.
