Helen P. Timmins

Mrs. Helen P. Timmins, 91, formerly of Fairfield, Pa., died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at Arbor Acres in Winston, N.C.

She was the wife of the late Albert R. Timmins, her husband of 59 years.

Born May 11, 1918, in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Nellie Pifer.

Helen loved people and loved to help in any way she could.

Before moving to the Washington area, Helen worked as an accountant at Montgomery Ward in Beaver Falls, Pa. Once she moved to this area, she was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Silver Spring. She was active in the church and served as choir mother. She was also in charge of the group Super 60's that met twice a week at the church.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra A. Bowman of Frederick, and Nadine T. Kerth and husband, Robert, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; six grandchildren, Tami Kiley, Tim Bowman, Billy Bowman, Jessica Peters, Benjamin Kerth and Madison Kerth; seven great-grandchildren, Adam Kiley, Max Kiley, David R. Bowman, Sarah Bowman, Kylie Peters, Samantha Kerth and Natalie Kerth.

She was preceded in death by a bother, Donald Pifer and two sisters, Thelma Pelloni and Edith Taylor.

Services: A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, with the Rev. Roger Melson.

Interment will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.
