Helene M. (Peggy) Tassallo

Mrs. Helene M. (Peggy) Clark Tassallo, 88, of Mt. Airy, MD died peacefully Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Lorien Mt. Airy. She was the wife of the late Joseph Louis Tassallo, Sr., who died on August 6, 1970.
Born October 14, 1927 in Hannibal, MO, she was the daughter of the late Edward Charles and Helen Theresa (Smith) Clark.
Following her graduation from LaClerc College in Belleville, IL, Peggy was a teacher at St. Theresa's School. She and her husband married in 1954. She left teaching in 1956 to devote herself to her family as a wife and full time mother to their four children. Peggy was a loving, generous, strong, and independent woman who instilled those qualities in her children.
She loved traveling, reading literature, music, following the stock market, and painting. Peggy was an intelligent woman, a wonderful story teller, with a great sense of humor, and very competitive, unbeatable at the game of Trivial Pursuit. Of all the things Peggy enjoyed doing, times spent with her family and close friends were most valuable to her.
She is survived by son, Joseph Louis Tassallo, Jr. and wife, Angela, of Silver Spring, MD, daughter, Eve Firmani and husband, Robert, of Mt. Airy; four grandchildren, Anthony Tassallo, Joe Tassallo, Victoria Tassallo and Seth Firmani; one great-grandchild, Amnisty Tassallo; her sister, Marilyn Kincaid of Las Vegas; a brother, Robert Francis Clark, of St. Louis; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sons, Phillip and James Tassallo; and four siblings, Oliver Clark, Norman Clark, Bernice Lawrence, and Donald Clark.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 am. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 1125 St Michaels Rd, Mount Airy, MD 21771, with Father Michael Ruane officiating.
Internment will be along side her husband at a private ceremony at Baltimore National Cemetery.
