Helene Crane Spranklin

Helene F. Crane Spranklin, 87, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, January 21, 2013.

Helene was preceded in death by her two husbands, Clarence B. Crane, whom she married on May 12, 1945 and whom preceded her in death in 1982; and Dr. John W. Spranklin, Jr. whom she married in 1987 and whom passed away in 2008.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Larry Crane in 1997.

Helene was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Boonsboro and was also member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

Helene moved to Boonsboro from Chevy Chase, Maryland in 1966 to enjoy a rural life restoring an historic stone farmhouse on Manor Church Road.

When not being with her loving family, she enjoyed her friends, meeting new people, traveling, and loved life to the fullest. She loved God's creation and saw beauty in every person and creature and was known to light up a room wherever she went.

Helene is survived by seven loving children, Frank Crane, Stephen Crane, Nancy Erkman, Sally Sayers, Jack Crane, Mary Crane, and Tim Crane.  She also found great joy in her ten grandchildren and her six great-grandchildren.

Services will be held privately at a later date.
