Mrs. Helen Virginia Russell, 94 of Windsor Mill, MD passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Russell.
Born on January 29, 1921 in Frederick, MD she was the daughter of the late Frank and Daisey Hooper.
Helen was a 1938 graduate of Frederick High School. She was a long time member of Grace Trinity United Church of Christ. Helen was an avid reader who also enjoyed quilting, ceramics walking and gardening.
She is survived by her son Donald "Don" Russell of Windsor Mill, MD; grandchildren Donald Russell of Baltimore and Crystal Russell of Belmont, NC and her brother Douglas Hooper of Frederick.
She is preceded in death by her son James Russell; brother Buddy Hooper and sister Mary Lewis.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM where a funeral service will be held on Friday, February 27 at 1PM. Rev. Dr. Elsabeth Hilke will officiate.
Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
