Mrs. Helen Louise Bennett, 67, of Ijamsville, MD., went to be with the Lord, suddenly on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She was the wife of Donald R. Bennett, Sr. her husband of 46+years.

Born August 2, 1943 in Clearville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Floyd E. and Kathryn Cogan Miller.

Helen was a member of Bush Creek Church of the Brethren where she always enjoyed helping in the Social Hall. She loved spending time with her granddaughters and was a avid bingo player. She also enjoyed walking and listening to Elvis Presley.

In addition to her husband she is survived by two children Wendy Kay Roper and husband George E. of Mercersburg, PA and Donald R. Bennett, Jr and wife Dawn of New Market, her granddaughters Brooke Morgan and Bailey Hope Bennett, a sister Marjorie Dumpert of Pauline, S.C., two brothers Gary Miller and wife Jaylene and Randy Miller both of Everett, PA. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and especially her cat "Lionel".

She was preceded in death by a brother Paul Miller, a sister Shirley Winck and a brother Richard Miller.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Wednesday, October 20, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Services will be held on Thursday, October 21 at 10:00 a.m. from the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, 4128 A-Green Valley Road, Monrovia with Rev. Charles Beekley officiating.

Graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m., Pleasant Union Cemetery, Clearville, PA

In lieu of flowers donations, in her memory, to the Bush Creek Church of the Brethren Building Fund at the above address.
