Helen Virginia Heit Andre, age 90, of NW 31st Ave., Gainesville, Fla., died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Aug. 1, 1918 in Portsmouth, VA, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Otello Kimitt Heit.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Albert Andre, on Dec. 6, 2005.
She had been employed for 35 years at Hecht Co. in Marlow Heights, MD.
She was a member of Holy Faith Catholic Church in Gainesville.
She was a member of the Golden Gators of Gainesville and volunteered with Right to Life in Florida.
She is survived by three daughters, Sharon A. Hodge of Lake City, Fla., Kathryn E. Bucklew of Gainesville, and Mary F. Herbert of Culpeper, VA; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was the last of nine children.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing or visitation.
Arrangements are being handled by Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro.
