Mrs. Hazel R.(Wheeler)Salter, 95, of Myersville, passed away on October 13th, 2008 at the Citizens Nursing Center.
She was the wife of the late Arnold H. Salter.
Born on September 22,1912 in Colesville, MD she was the daughter of the late Elsie and Harry Wheeler.
Mrs. Salter was employed as the manager of Montgomery Deli for many years before moving to the Outer Banks, NC , where she was noted for her famous Hazels Crabcakes at one of the local restaurants. She returned to Maryland after her husbands passing and lived near her son until her health forced her into the nursing home in 2006.
She was preceded in death by 4 brothers Stanley, Russell, Tyson and Elmer Wheeler.
Surviving are 3 children; Charlotte Bowden , Germantown, MD, Willard E. Salter and wife Yvonne, Myersville, MD, and Roland Williams, Cleveland, TN, 8 grandchildren , 11 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Thursday, Oct. 16th, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Services: Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Stacy Brady will officiate. Interment in Parklawn Cemetery.
