Harry Ray Mackley

Mr. Harry Ray Mackley, 83 of Frederick, Maryland died Sunday, January 28, 2007 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Marilyn Hutton Mackley. They were married for 59 years.

Born December 1, 1923 in Waynesboro, PA he was the son of the late Morris Albertus and Eva Pearl Weagley Mackley.

He attended the schools in Waynesboro and graduated in 1941.

Mr. Mackley served in the Army Air Corp from 1942-1945 as a B-17 pilot and was stationed in England. He also served in the Maryland National Guard for 3 years.

Mr. Mackley was employed by Potomac Edison Co. for over 39 years, mainly in the Frederick area.

In 1961 he became a minister with Jehovah's Witness in the Frederick Congregation where he served as an elder for many years. This was the work he cherished the most. He had the privilege of talking to many friends in Frederick about the good news of God's Kingdom under the rule of Jesus Christ along with his strong faith in the resurrection to life on a Paradise Earth under that Kingdom.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, John R. Mackley of Round Rock, TX, and Joyce Ann Mackley Anthony and her husband William of Middletown, MD, a sister, Peggy A. Rock, a brother-in-law Howard Chic Hutton and his wife Dottie all of Waynesboro, PA.

Services: Interment will be private.
