Harry N. {Newt} Kanode
February 14, 1926 — July 7, 2009
Harry N. Newt Kanode, 83, of Adamstown, loving husband and devoted father, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Frederick Memorial Hospital following a stroke.
Born Feb. 14, 1926, in Middlebrook, he was the much- loved son of Harry B. and Essie Mae Kanode.
Newt ran a successful dairy farm for more than 50 years and was an active member of the Adamstown Community Church.
In addition to his wife, Barbara, of 61 years, he is survived by two daughters, Hope L. Green and husband, James, of Gaithersburg and Barbara Lynn Kanode of Falls Church, Va. He will also be remembered by his niece, Joan Cochran of Gaithersburg; a nephew, Norman Sugrue of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; first cousins, Richard Dick Kanode of Thurmont, Robert Bob Kanode of Reisterstown and Mildred Mickey Burns Stevenson of Lusby; and his other great-nieces, great-nephews, second cousins and other family members.

Services: A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 13, at the Adamstown Community Church, 5603 Mountville Road, Adamstown, with the Rev. Ron Maxson officiating.
