Harold Zigler

Mr. Harold Curtis Zigler, 87, of Frederick, MD passed away on Sunday, October 20th, 2019 at his home with his family by his side.

Born on December 26th, 1931 in Jefferson Township, PA. He was the son of the late Ward H. Zigler and Miriam L. Miller Zigler.

Harold graduated from Frederick High School in 1950.  He served in the 29th Division of the National Guard.  In his early years, he worked for Sealtest Dairy and then C.W. England Laboratories.  After Dr. England retired, Harold worked for Capitol Milk Producers as a supervisor of quality control where he retired.

Harold was a member of the Lewistown United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee for many years and the Sertoma Club of Frederick.  Harold enjoyed camping and playing cards with his friends and family.

Harold is predeceased by his wife of 64 years Caroline Rippeon Zigler in October 2016 and his two brothers Ward L. Zigler and David L. Zigler.

Harold is survived by his siblings Mae Clevland, Donald Zigler and wife Larue, and Rachel Zigler; his sister in laws Patsy Zigler and Bettyjean Zigler Hunter; his children Blaine Zigler and wife Terri; Cindy Grossnickle and husband Gary; Daryl Zigler and wife Diana; and Michael Zigler and wife Denise; his grandchildren Joshua Grossnickle, Carrie Pollock, Amy Squires, Benjamin Zigler, and Morgan Zigler; his step grandchildren Ronnie Easterday and Anthony Sewel; his 12 great grandchildren; and his 5 step great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 on Tuesday, October 29th, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick with his pastor, Katy Mossburg officiating. A private interment will take place at a later date in Glade Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lewistown United Methodist Church, 11032 Hessong Bridge Road, Thurmont, MD 21788.
