Harold Remsburg

Harold Clopper Remsburg, 89, of Hagerstown, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center.

Born May 16, 1928 in Keedysville, he was the son of late Harry and Olive Clopper Remsburg.

Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War. He was a charter member of the McClellan Gun Club and the Broadfording Church of God.

He retired from Western Maryland Railroad, and was a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, of 64 years, Violet (Long) Remsburg; his sons, Donald and wife, Lisa, Ronald and Thomas Bussard, Jr.; granddaughters, Michelle (Bussard) Cunningham, Kami (Bussard) Carbaugh, Rebecca (Remsburg) Britner, Kara Remsburg and Megan Remsburg; and great-grandchildren, Hunter and Skylar Ecton. Also surviving are his sisters, Kathryn Barnes and Bernice Ann Baker. He was loved by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by siblings, Alice (Gin) Hockenberry, Mary Ahalt, Ellis (Gratten) Remsburg, Thomas Remsburg and Russell Remsburg.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2018 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, at the Broadfording Church of God in Hagerstown with Pastor S. Dwight Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery, Broadfording Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made, in Harold’s name, to Broadfording Church of God, 16109 Broadfording Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
