Harold Kirby

February 13, 1947 — January 17, 2022

Harold Ricardo  Kirby, 74, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, January 17, 2022 at his home.  He was the beloved husband of Laurellet Kirby.

Born on February 13, 1947, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Harold Richard and Ethel Madeline (Roots) Kirby.

Harold was a graduate of Calvin Coolidge High School, Washington, DC 1966.  After 26 years with the US Postal Service as Superintendent of Stations and Brach Operations, he retired.   This was his proudest achievement.  Harold was  a former member of the Boonsboro Utilities Commission.  He was an avid custom car enthusiast; enjoyed photography; and also obtained a Black Belt in Martial Arts and enjoyed being an instructor.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Earl V. Kirby, son, Charles L. Kirby and nephew, Anthony R. Hampton.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 1-2PM where a celebration of Harold's life journey will take place at 2PM at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro, Maryland.  Rev. Tim May will officiate.

Interment will be held privately.
