Harold “Fergie/Butch” Ferguson, 81, passed away at home on November 7, 2023. He was born on December 23, 1941 to the late, Leoda and Burton Ferguson. He is survived by his loving wife Becky of 61 years. He is also survived by his daughter Karen Ferguson Wall and husband Stacey along with a brother Richard “Dick” Ferguson and numerous loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family. He is predeceased by his son, Duane Robert Ferguson and several brothers and sisters.
A graduate of Thurmont High School, Butch worked as an engineer at AT&T for many years. Upon retirement from AT&T, he and his wife owned and operated the Thurmont Bowling Center for nearly 15 years. He loved to fish, travel, and spend time with his family.
He was so proud of his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family, often bragging about their accomplishments to anyone that would listen. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren lit up his world. Fergie had a vibrant personality, an infectious smile, and was kind to everyone he met. Everyone knows how much he loved his family and friends. Fergie had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes.
The family will receive friends and celebrate Fergie/Butch from 2-5 pm on December 9, 2023, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, located on 104 East Main Street in Thurmont, MD 21788.
