Harold Ehart

January 9, 1948 — October 24, 2018

Harold (Hal) A. Ehart, Jr., 70, of Rocky Ridge passed away suddenly, on October 24, 2018.
Born January 9, 1948, Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late Harold A., Sr. and Florence Ehart.
He joined the Marine Corp in 1968, served 2 tours in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1972.  After which he was in the reserves for several years.  Hal was always eager to help out with events at the Thurmont area schools, where his children attended.
After retiring from thirty plus years in the insurance business, Hal worked multiple part time jobs at Camp Airy, Gateway Market, Gettysburg Campground and Ski Liberty.
He has been a member of the Memorial Church of the Prince of Peace for 37 years, where he served in many capacities; usher, head of multiple committees, Senior Warden and Treasurer, a position he held for 25 years.  He also held a position with the Diocese of South Central Pa.  He worked for the US Census and as a Line Judge at local voting polls.
He is much loved and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, of 47 years, Deb; his daughter and son-in-law, Heather Ehart Hinkle and Mark F. Hinkle; his son, Harold A. Ehart, III Trey and
his three grandchildren, Sadie, Jack and Levi; two sisters, Susan M. Woods and Sally DeLoy.
The family held private viewing and services at Stauffer Funeral Home in Frederick and The Memorial Church of the Prince of Peace in Gettysburg.
A Celebration of his life will be held on January 18, 2019 with a memorial service at The Memorial Church of the Prince of Peace in Gettsyburg, PA, followed by a gathering at Ski Liberty Resort in Fairfield, PA.
