Harold Beard

Harold Gene Beard, 78, of Frederick passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, MD
Born on August 12, 1938, in Oil Trough, AR he was the son of the late Simon Fred Beard and Maxine Nash Beard Secrease
He worked 37 years with the US Coast and Geodetic Survey and was a long time member and Deacon at South End Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Beard.
He is survived by wife, Helen L. Beard; sons, Steven  Beard and his wife, Terri,  David Beard and his Fiancée, Brooke, Matthew Beard and his wife, Trish; daughter in laws, Missy Beard & Leigh Gower; sisters, Linda Jared, Vicky Holloway, and Kathy Lunn, all of Arkansas; brothers, Wayne Beard, Darrell Beard, and Billy Beard, all of Arkansas; grandchildren, Jason, Travis, Tanner, Joshua, Jordan, and Justin Beard; great-grandchildren, Mckenzie and Harper.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 6, 2017 from  5pm to 8pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
A funeral service will take place at  1pm on Friday, April 7, 2017 at South End Baptist Church, 506 Carrollton Drive in Frederick, MD. Pastor Ken Stall and Rev. Jim McBride will officiate.  Interment will be at Harmony Church of the Brethren Cemetery in  Myersville, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick County.
