Mr. Hansel R. Staley, 90, of Walkersville, MD died peacefully Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Northampton Nursing Home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Gloria Staley.
Born December 21, 1921 in Libertytown, MD he was the son of the late Harry and Virgie Staley.
Mr. Staley grew up and worked on the family farms in Walkersville for many years. Prior to his retirement he was employed with Coca Cola Company in Frederick.MD. Hansel enjoyed bowling and baseball in his younger years. He enjoyed life and people and spending time with his family. Mr. Staley was an avid antiquer and enjoyed auctions, flea markets and yard sales. After his retirement he enjoyed refinishing antique furniture.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Michael Staley and wife Lorraine of Walkersville and Tiffany Staley and husband Keith of Walkersville, ; grandchildren Kimberly Staley of Frederick and Joshua Staley of Walkersville and Tyler Staley and great-grandson Landon Wisner.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville, on Monday, January 16, 2012 from 1-2PM where a memorial service will begin at 2PM. Rev. Lloyed Fuss will officiate.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Mental Health Association of Frederick County, 263 W. Patrick St., Frederick, MD 21701.
