Mr. Hans Joerg Pfister, 85, of Adamstown, MD, died on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, in Washington, DC. He was the husband of the late Mary Louise Pearsall Pfister who died in 2001.

Born on June 3, 1930 in Passaic, NJ, he was the son of the late Arnold and Martha Kuhn Pfister. He was a proud graduate of Cornell University, earning his bachelor's degree in 1953 and his master's in 1955. Mr. Pfister was a registered PE in civil engineer, retiring from the Exxon Corporation. Hans was a member of the Cornell Plantations, Shelburne Farms and the Lake Champlain Antique and Classic Boat Society. He enjoyed antique wooden Chris Craft boats, traveling with his wife, gardening and skiing; but most of all treasured spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are four children: Hans D. Pfister, Bruce Pfister and wife Barbara, Nancy McSherry and husband Timothy, and Dr. Scott Pfister and wife Lyn; seven grandchildren: Sarah Spratt and husband Matt, Daniel Pfister and fiance Valerie Pozzuto, Nathaniel Pfister, Zachary Pfister, Morgan McSherry, Conor McSherry and Sean McSherry; a brother, Rhaeto Pfister, a sister, Dorli Cloutier and husband Lou; two sisters-in-law: Jayne Waller and Candace Pearsall.

Services and interment will be private.
