Mr. Grayson Austin Young, 74, of Waynesboro, PA, died Thursday, March 25, 2010.
Born January 13, 1936 in Middletown, MD, he was the son of the late Charles and Alma Bussard Young.
Grayson lived most of his life in Middletown, Feagaville and Frederick area. He attended schools in Middletown and Frederick. Mr. Young served his Country in the U.S. Army in the 205th Military Police.
He worked for Kery Construction Co. and different companies in the area. Grayson loved country and bluegrass music. He played the harmonica at nursing homes and senior centers in the Frederick area and played with different groups in MD and PA., and enjoyed going to the beach in the summer. Mr. Young was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Feagaville.
He is survived by three children James A. Young and wife Pamela of Frederick, Tony E. Young and wife Terri of Boonsboro and Connie M Young Sites of Frederick, five grandchildren, his brothers, Meredith., Edwin, Marion F., Merhle F., Paul R. and Richard Young, his sister, Dorothy Bailey.
He will also be remembered by his dear companion Ruth Shriner of Waynesboro, PA.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Kauffman and Thelma Moor and a brother Harold Young.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, on Sunday, March 28th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
Services:
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 29th at 10:00AM with Pastor Jack Payne officiating.
Interment will be in St. Lukes Cemetery, Feagaville, MD.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
