Grayson Reed

Grayson Carroll "Pete" Reed, 90, of Lovettsville, VA, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010. He was the husband of the late Anna May Crouse Reed, his wife of 65 years.

Born September 7, 1920 in Lovettsville, VA, he was the son of the late Margaret Catherine Green Reed Harrison and the late Carl Smith Reed.

Mr. Reed was a farmer all of his life. He enjoyed spending with his family, hunting, fishing and the Redskins.

Mr. Reed is survived by three daughters Louise Coates, Patsy Frye and husband  Oliver, Mary Demory and husband Leslie, all of lovettsville and a son Thomas  Reed of Knoxville, TN, 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great greatgrandson and numerous family members and friends.

Mr. Reed is preceded in death by 4 sisters Blanche Dixon, Mary Mainhart, Sarah Rutherford and Agnes Hanes, 2 brothers Amos Harrison and Charles Reed, 1 son- in-law Andrew Coates, Sr . and a great grandson Nathan Reed.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Christian Community Church at St. Paul's, 12623 Harpers Ferry Road, Purcellville, Va. 20132 or Evercare Hospice, 12018 Sunrise Valley Drive #400, Reston, Va. 20191.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Avenue, Brunswick, MD, Tuesday, October 19, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m., where services will be held Wednesday, October 20, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Roland England officiating.

Interment Union Cemetery, Lovettsville.
