Grace Louise Sabato age 69, passed away at her nieces home what was like a bonus daughter in Thurmont, MD on September 15, 2022.
Born September 18, 1952 in Gettysburg, PA she was the daughter of the late Mearl William Dewees and Lana Lusinda Morningstar.
Grace loved spending time with family, especially her twin sister Lana. Grace babysat, loved going to yard sales, goodwill and McDonald's to get a coke. She enjoyed visits with her niece/bonus daughter Pam Garber Wright.
Grace was married to James Sabato of Hagerstown, MD. In addition to her husband she is survived by her son Wayne Wachter, Jr. "Skeeter" and wife Bethany Wachter of Frederick, MD; grandchildren, Nicholas Wachter and wife Candace Wachter of Rocky Ridge, MD, Stephanie Wachter of Frederick, MD and Brianna Wachter and fiance Zachary Marley of Mt. Airy, MD; great-grandchildren, Noah Wachter and Kinley Wachter both of Rocky Ridge, MD and many nieces and nephews; her siblings, Mary Staubs, Calvin Dewees, Sally Baumgardner, Betty Lou Koons, Mearl Dewees, Jr., Bonnie Eyler, Patricia Toms, Anna Messner and Lori Droneburg.
She is preceded in death by both her parents, sons Brian Keith Wachter, Billy Lee Wachter, her twin sister Lana Louise Eiker and her brother Ronald Elwood Dewees.
A special thank you to her niece Pam Garber Wright who was her caregiver and her biggest support system.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 am Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont where a celebration of Grace's life journey will take place at 11am.
Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to assist with funeral expenses in care of Pam Garber.
