Mr. Gordon Lynn Wantz, 53, of Walkersville, Maryland, died, Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Christine Gattringer Wantz.
Born January 11, 1961 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of Donna Stonesifer Wantz Hargett and the late Jasper Lee Wantz.
Gordon graduated from Thomas Johnson High School in 1979 and worked in the field of Information Technology in New York and Maryland. Most recently he was employed as operations systems engineer for Walls Fargo Mortgage Co. Besides his work in I.T., he loved recording and playing his music. Gordon enjoyed spending time with his family and his cats. Mr. Wantz was a member of FCF Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother, are his two daughters Jackie Lynn Wantz and Justine Michelle Wantz and a step-sister Kimberly Hargett Scott and husband Peter and their daughters Rebekah, Rachel, Elizabeth and Sarah Scott. Many cousins also survive. He will also be missed by the Trout, Grice, Rauber and Watzinger families.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Thursday, July 24, from 7-9:00pm, where a memorial service will be held Friday, July 25, at 10:00 am Friends may visit from 9:00 am until service time.
Interment Mt. Tabor Cemetery
