Goldie Mae (Rohrer) Stottlemyer, 72, of Sharpsburg, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at her son's home in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Born on November 19, 1941, in Keedysville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eva Rosie (Early) Rohrer. Her husband, Charles "Possum" W. Stottlemyer, preceded her in death on September 25, 2013.
Goldie was a member of the Burnside First Church of God in Sharpsburg.
She is survived by two sons, Vernon C. Stottlemyer and wife Margie of Keedysville, and Tony L. Stottlemyer and wife Kelly of Hagerstown; four sisters, Cheryl Ramsburg and Peggy Hawker, both of Jefferson, Maryland, Betty Gatrell of Frederick, Maryland, and Lillian Kephart of Keedysville; two brothers, Junior Rohrer of Fairplay, Maryland, and Gary Rohrer of Georgia; five grandchildren, Brandie "Sue" Kelly and husband Daniel, Ryan Stottlemyer, Zackery Stottlemyer, Sean Stottlemyer and Sara Mae Stottlemyer; step granddaughter, Nina Morrison; and step grandson Robert Guy. She is also survived by her great-grandson, Logan Kelly.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Aikens, Barbara Miller; and one brother, Melvin Rohrer.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. Ernest E. Witmer will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2014 at the funeral home.
