Gloria Mae (Shafer) Myers, 78, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Ravenwood Lutheran Village in Hagerstown.
Born on March 17, 1937, in Funkstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Chloe R. (Corwell) Shafer.
She was a 1955 graduate from Williamsport High School.
Gloria was a resident of Ravenwood Nursing Home for over eighteen years, where she enjoyed her favorite activity, Bingo.
She was previously employed with London Fog in Halfway, and Rohr Industries of Hagerstown.
Gloria was a member of the Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship in Hagerstown.
She is survived by three children, Ray Myers and wife Brenda of Goodwin, Kansas, Dianna Joy Lewis and husband Basil of Williamsport, and Harry Myers and wife Kay of Coleman, Michigan; four grandchildren, Dianna Jean Lewis, Basil Lewis, Jr., Kyle Myers, and Skylar Myers; two sisters, Irene Shafer of Hagerstown, and Carol Williamson of Frederick, Maryland; and numerous cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Myers; and her son, David Myers.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship, 14010 Greencastle Pike in Hagerstown. Pastor Len Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the John R. Marsh Cancer Center, 11110 Medical Campus Road, Suite 129, Hagerstown, Maryland, 21742.
