Gloria (Mom Jean) Fogle

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Gloria “Mom Jean” Fogle on June 26, 2023, at her home. She was born on July 28, 1944 in Thurmont, MD and lived a life full of love and joy. Family was everything to Jean, she cherished spending time with them and would light up every room with her infectious laughter and teasing.

Jean was a homemaker and spent most of her time caring for her family. She enjoyed solving word puzzles and watching the Hallmark Channel in her spare time. Her welcoming demeanor and genuine personality made everyone feel loved and appreciated.

Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Frank Fogle, who passed away on February 22, 2019. She was also preceded in death by her parents Clinton (Bub) and Hilda (Morningstar) Martin, siblings Kathryn Bradshaw and James Martin, and grandson Christopher Schildt.

She will be deeply missed by her surviving family members, including her daughter Karen Schildt (Ed), son Josh Kelley (Nicole), grandson Collin Schildt (Ally), grandchildren Lauren Kelley and Patrick Kelley; great-granddaughter Adalyn Eaves; sister Beverly Little (Phillip) and brother-in-law John Bradshaw. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, but will be remembered by special nieces and nephews: Brenda Toms (Frankie), Wanda Taylor, Michael Bradshaw (Becky), Laurie Baker (Chip), Micha Hagans (Rob), Shane Little (friend Maggie), Kimberly Seiss (Brian), Bryan Fogle (Melody); Special great nieces & nephews: CJ Hagans, Myli Hagans, Kaleb Hagans, Victoria Seiss, Tanner Seiss, Lance Goff, Dakotah Gambrel and Skyler Manahan.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Weller United Methodist Church, 101 Altamont Avenue, Thurmont, MD 21788. Services will follow at the church on June 30th at 1:00pm.  Pastor Mark Eyler will officiate.

Interment will be at Blue Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Weller United Methodist Church.

Jean’s passing has left a void in the hearts of those who loved her, but her memories will forever remain. Rest in peace Jean, you will never be forgotten.
