Gloria Winebrenner

Gloria J. Winebrenner, 74, of Keedysville, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Towson, Maryland. She was a resident of the Keedysville area her entire life.

Born on March 9, 1937, in Mt. Briar, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Harry H. and Marie Virginia (Rohrer) Abbott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Winebrenner in 1990.

She was a graduate of Boonsboro High School and a member of the Mt. Briar Church of God.

Mrs. Winebrenner was formerly employed as a secretary for Victor Products in Hagerstown, Maryland.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #89 in Hagerstown, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Post #1136 in Brunswick, Maryland.

In addition to being the pianist for Mt. Briar Church of God for over sixty years, she enjoyed playing the piano regularly for the residents at Fahrney-Keedy Home & Village and collecting antiques.

She is survived by her son, Curt D. Winebrenner and his wife, Wanda, of Reisterstown, Maryland; a granddaughter, Christa Marie Winebrenner and her Fiance, Todd Roop; sister Patricia Gilbert and her husband Butch of Ft. Myers, Florida; and her companion George Spielman of Sharpsburg.  She is also survived by five step-grandchildren, Kristofor (Gretchen), Matthew (Kara), Andrew (Jami), Douglas, and Stephen.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph C. Burdette, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg.
