Gloria Clabaugh

Mrs. Gloria Elizabeth Clabaugh, 88, of Thurmont, also known as Grandma Clabaugh to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, died Wednesday, January 24, 2018. She was the loving wife of Roy C. Clabaugh who passed away January 25, 2016. They were married 68 years.
Born August 13, 1929, in Thurmont, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Dougherty and John P. Weddle.
Gloria worked over 40 years at the Thurmont Shoe Company as an executive secretary.
She was a lifelong member of Trinity United Church of Christ. She was an avid reader and loved adult coloring. She was a lifelong member of the Guardian Hose Fire Company and the Thurmont American Legion Post 168.
Gloria is survived by daughter, Sandra Wiley and husband, Matthew, and son, Larry Clabaugh and wife, Sue, all of Thurmont; grandchildren, Erica Wiley Hayes and husband, Jeff, Chad Wiley and wife, Nicole Conner Wiley, Andrew Clabaugh and Katherine Kalich and Anna Catherine Clabaugh Laliotitis and husband, Niko; five great-grandchildren, Tessa Hayes, C.J. Wiley, Mia Wiley, Ezekiel Laliotites and Silas Laliotites. Also surviving are her loving sister, Marilyn Long; sister-in-law, Lula Yingling; and brother-in-law, Russell Clabaugh; many nieces, nephews; longtime close friend, Pat Weddle; and dear friend, Larry Stull. Gloria will also be remembered by Sue's children, Liz Stitley and Margie Despeaux and husband, Bryant, and their children, Katie, Jack and John and wife, Jessie and their daughters, Lily and Clarabelle.
Gloria was known and loved for her beautiful smile and great hugs.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Thurmont with Rev. Sean DeLawder officiating. Inurnment will be private.
