Gloria K. Ayers

Gloria Ayers, 98, of Ranson, West Virginia, passed from this life on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville, WV. She was the wife of Donald Ayers her husband of 31 years. 

Born on October 7, 1926, in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Daisy Cooper Deener. 

She graduated from Brunswick High School in 1943 and worked for the Department of Army in Washington DC working her way to a Financial Officer until her retirement. Gloria was a member of the Knoxville Bible Church, Knoxville, MD. She enjoyed many years of Camping in Myrtle Beach, SC She loved the warm/hot sun.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her daughter, Carolyn Twyman, Debbie Stauffer, Tommy Ayers (Pattie), Tana Hodge (Bruce), Jimmy Ayers (Rhonda), Frances Monico (Frank) and Veronica Eury; 29 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren; and brothers: Samuel Deener and Donald (Gloria) Deener. . She was predeceased by her first husband: Clayton Kirby, Sr. and Son Clayton Kirby, Jr. Gloria was predeceased by siblings: Charles (Wilma) Deener; Herman (June) Deener; Carlos (Nancy) Deener and Mary Ayers, sister-in-law Patsy Deener as well as neice and nephew - Deborah Welty and Grayson Tribby. 

The family will receive friends from 2-4 an 6-8 PM on Tuesday, October 22, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1100 North Maple Avenue, Brunswick, MD 21716, where a celebration of Gloria's life will take place at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 23. Pastor Joe Coblentz will officiate. Interment will be at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, VA.
