Glenn W. {Buzz} Shorb
July 16, 1937 — June 23, 2008
Glenn W. Buzz Shorb, 70, of 78 Redwood Dr., Hagerstown, MD died Monday, June 23, 2008 at his home.
Born July 16, 1937 in Darnestown, MD, he was the son of the late Earl Geisbert and Mary Virginia Wilson Shorb.
He was a graduate in the class of '55 at Gaithersburg High School. His employment consisted of the United States Post Office Department and 35 yrs. with Peoples Life Insurance Company. Formerly, very active in the 4-H Clubs of America and currently a member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church, the Hagerstown Elks Lodge#378 and a member for 33 years of the National Assoc. of Life Underwriters, having served President of the Hagerstown Assoc. in 1977/1978.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Judith Stang Shorb, two sons: Glenn W. Jr. of Hagerstown, Jeffery W. of Hedgesville, WV and one daughter, Susan E. Creel of Hagerstown, seven grandchildren,one great granddaughter and one sister, Eleanor Shorb Hershey of Woodfield, MD.
He was predeceased by one son, Gregory Scott, one sister, Dorothy V. Henderson and two brothers, Gordan R. Shorb and Earle W. Shorb.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD,on Thursday, June 26, 2008 from 7-9 p.m.
Services:
Services will be held Friday, June 27, at 11:30 a.m. from the Mt. Olivet Cemetery Chapel, 515 South Market St., Frederick.
Entombment will follow.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jon Stang, Tommy Hershey, Corey Leon, Gregg Fulmer, Tom Borum, David Hershey, Keith White and David Brunzell.
