Glenn Eugene "Bill" Turney

Glenn Eugene "Bill" Turney, 78, of Brunswick, joined his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Frederick Health Hospital.  He was the husband of Cheryl Turney for nearly 58 years.  Born on June 18, 1945, in Baltimore, he was the son of Willie Eugene Turney and Louise (Hatchell) Turney.

Mr. Turney was an educator and coach for 46 years at Brunswick High School and was an associate pastor at Valley Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Glenn Eugene Turney, Jr and wife Valerie, Suzanne Gaver and husband Ralph Jr., Lori Vieira and husband Rich; 9 grandchildren: Scott Gaver, Dylan Gaver, Joshua Vieira, Morgan Turney, Abby Vieira, Ben Vieira, Gracie Vieira, Caroline Vieira, Lily Vieira; as well as a great-granddaughter, London Gaver.  He is also survived by a sister, Mary Jean Hartman, a brother, Danny Turney and wife Sharon, a sister-in-law Dori Hammond and husband Tommy as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 17 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue, Brunswick.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 18, at 3:00 pm at Valley Baptist Church, 5678 Holter Road, Jefferson, MD 21755. Glenn Turney and Rich Viera will officiate.  Interment will be at Park Heights Cemetery, Brunswick.
