Glenn Moler

Glenn R. Moler, 79 of Knoxville, Maryland, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ peacefully on Thursday, February 16th, 2017 at his son's home in Frederick. Glenn was preceded by his loving wife of 55 years Jacklin Moler and son Glenn L Moler in 2016.

Glenn was born on September 27th, 1937 to the late Harry Robert Moler and the late Genevieve Tritapoe Moler of Brunswick, MD. Glenn attended East End Elementary School. He graduated from Brunswick High School class of 1955. Glenn honorably served in the United States Army Reserve from 1959 to 1965 and received an Honorable Discharge. Glenn was a faithful member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Rosemont until it disbanded. He was attending Faith Baptist Church with his son before his illness. Glenn was also a past member of the original Rotary Club of Brunswick, MD.

For almost three decades, Glenn worked with the B&O Railroad YMCA retiring as the Executive Director of the Brunswick location in 1992. Glenn spearheaded many initiatives and took great pride in the services that this organization provided to Railroad employees and the local Brunswick community. To include traveling on a weekly basis to Clifton Forge, VA for nearly four years while the new facility was rebuilt after a catastrophic fire in 1981.

While Glenn certainly missed working at the "Y", he enjoyed; and, was good at retirement. Spending time with his wife Jackie, companion Shih Tzu Holly, traveling, gardening, fishing and just being a Husband, Dad, Brother, Grandfather and Friend to people that relied upon him. Glenn’s silver hair, kind words and welcoming smile were ever-present to family, friends and strangers alike. When the opportunity presented itself, Glenn was a passionate angler and enjoyed the tranquility of getting out on the Potomac River or the local Merryland Park pond.

Glenn is survived by his daughter, Karen Trasatti of Annapolis, and son, Kevin and his wife Stacey of Frederick. He leaves behind seven grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Alex Bussey, Gabrielle Trasatti, Savanna Moler, Matthew Trasatti, Kyle Moler, Kirsten Moler, and Alexandra Trasatti. Glenn is also survived by his half-sister Ginny Flaherty. Glenn will also be remembered by Jackie's siblings Judy, Dare, Dean and Chad.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert Lamar Moler, Lynwood C. Moler, Harry Lee "Buck" Moler, Thomas Wayne Moler, and Patricia Darlene Taylor.

The family would like to thank Dr. Hegazi and all of the personnel that helped care for Glenn at foha and the employees at The Intravenous Therapy Center. We would also like to thank Hospice of Frederick County for the care provided during Glenn's illness.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 19th, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Home, in Brunswick, 1100 North Maple Avenue in Brunswick.

A Celebration of Glenn's life journey will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 20th, 2107 at Faith Baptist Church, 2212 Jefferson Pike in Knoxville, MD. Pastor Duane Musgrove will officiate. Interment will be at Brownsville Heights Cemetery in Brownsville.
